Coinbase, the biggest US crypto exchange, is buying Dubai-based Deribit to grow its global presence and boost derivatives trading.
🚨Breaking News:
Coinbase will acquire Deribit for $2.9B in cash and stock, expanding its international crypto trading and options business significantly.

Coinbase is paying $700M in cash and 11M shares of stock.
Deribit specializes in crypto options and futures trading.
It handled over $1 trillion in trading volume last year.
This is Coinbase’s fifth acquisition and its biggest one yet.

Canadian fintech Wealthsimple is teaming up with Eventus to use fancy AI tools to spot risky or suspicious trades better.
🚨Breaking News:
Wealthsimple will now use Eventus’ Validus platform to upgrade its trade surveillance, using AI and automation to spot manipulative activity.
⚡Wire Simplified:
Wealthsimple serves over 3 million Canadians with investing and crypto services.
Eventus’ Validus helps detect risky, weird, or fake trades.
